The AMAZING Dr. Nick Friedman
"I was about to give up on chiropractors. Dr. Friedman virtually saved my
life after getting a terrible prognosis from anotherchiropractor and a
neurologist. He went RIGHT to the SOURCE of my neck problem and did more in a
couple of sessions than my previous chiro did in a couple of years. He does
manipulation but depends on YOU doing the simple corrective postural and
strengthening exercises to reduce the number of visits in addition to his work.
And he does NOT push the "series" of frequent visits but really tailors to what
you need as you go along. His ability for "sports enhancement" by tweaking you
as needed was not an initial reason for me to go, but he has done wonders for my
aging (56years old) body for hiking and biking. To say that I am impressed, puts
it mildly. He literally changed MY life by us working together as a
participatory patient and VERY experienced doctor. His office is simple and
humble, but its all that is needed."

"I met Dr. Nick December 31, 2002 when my Acupuncturist said I would just have to make the trip to Kirkland and that day my life began to really change. It was the day before New Years Eve and I called and politely asked would he see me the next day (not expecting any doctor to do that without even have met me) as I was in a lot of pain and very tired of it. Not only did he agree to meet me, I began (and am still on) a very successful journey into my own health.
My low back had caused me grief (and I mean the kind where at times I could not use the restroom alone) for most of my adult life. It took 3 months of working with Dr. Nick to not only rid me of the pain but also take off 15-20 pounds and keep it off (not a goal I was after at all but a nice perk), and lowered my menstrual cycle discomfort! I might add that three months was much to his dismay as he thought that was way too long; however after 10 years of pain, 3 months was nothing to me. We worked as a team to change diet, exercise, and of course stress management in a time comfortable to me to get to where we are.
He is truly a gifted practitioner and I would recommend ANYONE and EVERYONE get a regular check-up with him. He listens to the whole person, understanding that we all can do only what we can do in our lives to make them better and works unattached to any outcome other than the best case scenario for an individual.
The way he works is as gentle or as strong as an individual needs, based on asking questions, having an idea of where to go and at the same time realizing that he will have to assess the information as he receives it. If a person is willing and wants to learn beyond, he will gladly accept the role as guide.
Dr. Nick is a wonderful doctor and fellow practitioner that I now share several clients with, most of whom see him regularly. Now I understand that people travel MANY miles (much more than West Seattle) to see him and I am not surprised a bit!"

"Two years ago I had to make a sudden trip to Chile to take care of a family emergency and before leaving I helped my wife (An Associate Broker with Windermere) to stage one of her upcoming listings, moving some heavy furniture around the house. As a result I felt some discomfort in my lower back but dismissed it as a minor issue. I then subsequently flew with some heavily packed luggage (mainly gifts for the members of my quite extensive family!) to Concepcion, Chile. One Flight from Seattle to Dallas (5 hours), then my overnight international connection from Dallas to Santiago de Chile (9 Hours) then a local flight connection between Santiago and Concepcion ( 1.5 hours). There was a total 15.5 hours in a plane without counting the time spent at the respective airports and waiting for the next connection.
When I landed in Concepcion I could barely walk as my back pain and hips pain were very strong. Next day I went to the doctor, a traumathologist, who sent me to the best private hospital in town, the German Hospital, to do a battery of tests and X rays and finally prescribed me pain killers. I endured my three weeks stay in Chile solving the family emergency that had brought me there under heavy medication with the pains still there.
I discovered in the process there are no Chiropractors in Chile! On top of it and as a result of a colonoscopy I did there (as I was visiting hospitals already!) I was recommended to undergo a small preventive surgery in Chile to eliminate a colon polyp. After surgery I had to stay in bed with minimal movement for a week. I didn’t move at all, not because of the surgery but because of my hip and back pain. Each movement in the bed was a torture. When the time came to fly back home to Seattle I could barely stand up or walk due to my back and hip pains. The Chilean physician said he would let me fly home only if I am transported in between airplanes and in the airports in a wheelchair. This was a very humbling experience for me to return in a wheel chair back home. (By the way, I discovered you become transparent or invisible on a wheelchair; people avoid making eye contact when you are on wheelchair!)
Back in Seattle I went to see a West Seattle Chiropractor I had seen before and he would not touch me without me previously doing a long list of scannings and tests which my wife and I calculated into the thousands of dollars. I luckily recalled a previous visit to Dr. Nick. Even though we had to drive to Kirkland from west Seattle to see him, we went. Long story short, I went into Dr. Nick's office, he asked me a lot of questions, muscle tested me, made me stand up and do a few steps in the room and then proceeded to adjust me from my head to my toes, focusing on my hip and back. An hour later I walked on my own and quite comfortably out of Dr. Nick's office with some supplements I had to take as well as some easy exercises I could do at home.
I will never forget the experience of flying back home from Chile in a wheelchair and the relief of walking comfortably out of Dr. Nick office. Dr. Nick is our family Dr. and we happily do the trip from West Seattle to Kirkland every time any of us at home needs some help with our health. We highly value his holistic approach to any health issue and his great diagnostic skills and therapeutic expertise."
